Multi colored "end of day" Penn 85 reel
« on: January 27, 2023, 08:18:50 PM »
Every so often they sweep up scraps from the floor and make a reel out of those leftovers. In the collector world it's commonly called "end of day" reel, but so few of these have been found leads me to believe otherwise. The colors may be difficult to see in in pictures, unless you put it under a desk lamp and light it up.

This one is a Penn 85, but the end of day reel can also be found as a 285 Delmar.

This is not painted or photo chopped. It's real inside and out. Bright light brings out all the vibrant colors

I have seen a few multi colored Delmar 285 reels and a few 85. Each one is unique to any other. Some more colorful, and some only have a couple colors

Here is one I found on the internet. I believe it is a Delmar 285, and of course the owner isn't selling, just showing
