The Push Me Pull You Reel
« on: February 24, 2021, 04:59:26 AM »
This certainly Qualifies as an ODD BALL

The line will come out of either end . Can be used as a casting Reel or a Fly Reel

This was made by Horrocks Ibotson in 1963 for some unknown reason .
It is called the Defiance 1900 and it sure does DEFY any logical purpose I ever seen ...lol

I call it the push me  pull you Reel like the animal in Dr. Do Little's book.

It was advertised in the Boy's Life Magazine in 1963 shown below

I plan on taking the one I have apart and putting up some pix of the internals

If a Grasshopper Carried a Shotgun .The Birds Wouldn't Mess With Em!

The Defiance was just one of several H-I CFSRs based on patents of Edward Small. At least five different companies, including Ocean City, made reels based on his patents. Here is Small's story.
