Was surfing the Book of Face and came across this Argus No. 575 Reel.

Notified the seller I would take it and 40 minutes later I was holding it. Seller took very accurate photos of everything but the missing seat...

Seeing how I've never heard of the Argus Reel Company I didn't let on that I really wanted it and negotiated the purchase price down to $20.00. So I'm happy again.

Overall the reel was FLITHY! It turns, the drag works, clicker is good, excentric is a bit sticky, and there is zero free spool. Nothing a good cleaning won't take care of.

Juding by the seat mount the seat was riveted to the mount and appears to be one piece (albeit two riveted sections?

).

Does anyone have a seat they are willing to sell me or maybe a parts reel? I went to Flea-Bay and with the exception of another model of baitcaster the only Argus reels they currently have are fly reels.

If anyone has a manual link I'd sure appreciate one, Google let me down.

I got 2 Reels at the NFLCC meet last week and bought a Box with tools and papers off Flee Bay this week .
One of the Reels just needed the ol grease cleaned out and looks NEW .

Thanks for helping locating these parts.
I got another Bantam 100 a few weeks ago. It cane with the rod I wanted, A Bantam Boron with the Colfor pistol grip. Very nice! The rod is like new, but the reel shows good bit of wear. I will probably just keep it for a parts reel.

Went to the local Temple Texas NFLCC Meet last week end and met a lot of New peeps . Put the word out there for parts .Might turn up something .Ended up buying 2 but too nice to part out . One in the Box.
While loading stuff to take I found another Box of NOS SHIMANO parts but not had ime to run through them . As many of those made somebody HAS TO HAVE A BUNCH somewhere . My bud in Calee forny has not found any yet but I BET a Dollar to a Rolling Do Nut he has em .
If you want to hep out around here talk the site up ,get some NEW BLOOD, post Pix , talk about fishing stuff/whatever ......

I check ebay often. Lots of used parts, few new old stock. I did find a couple nos gears last year on ebay for these reels. I still need/want a few more. Especially need some pinions for the Bantam 100's BTM0023. I still want some more main gears too though, btm 0019. Wanting New old stock parts. Thanks for looking. If you have some new "NOS" btm0023 pinion gears, let me know you price. I am flexible.
