Ocean City 923C (AFTER True Temper Take Over)

(1/1)

nomdeplume57:
Here is a 923 C by True Temper I bought in pretty sad shape and decided to put it back in shape

Before

Torn down

Cleaned parts Most all of these pieces are stainless where the original versions were Brass thus the start of Quality Decline in the company plus look at the cheap ass sticker instead of the Metal name tag, Took off Engraving on Level Wind Cover (TOP SAIL) ,did away with the Level Wind Tensioner , put C clip on Bridge Plate to hold guts in place instead of lever and separate screw and no spring oilers just holes in the places with some cotton or something stuck in there ...lol CHEEP CHEEP CHEEP !!!!

More cleaned parts

Together Again and Ready for another 50 years or more of  service

Aside from the things I mentioned above they did put a bigger Handle on these but took off the wrench that use to be on it .  It is obvious they were try to stretch their monies in manufacturing to compete with the New Penn company offshoots that were out selling nearly 3 to one .
