HERE IS AN UPDATE ON THE PREVIOUS POST ABOUT A/R 'S ON EARLY MODELS
Here are  some pix of the Reels .
 First I THINK is the  2nd EARLIEST for a couple of reasons
1. The fact it has an A/R and
2. It has a shim keeping the  Pinion Gear from marking the housing as seen in Pic 2 below

Here is what I THINK is first  as it has NO A/R and no shim indent  causing pinion to Mark housing

FEEL FREE to PROVE ME WRONG  :)
