So here are a couple reels I hot rodded from bone stock.
The first one is a Plain Jane Penn Jigmaster 501.
I added a Cortez Conversions seat and spacer bars, anodized spool, all stainless steel guts, and a power handle from Pro Challenger.
The second Reel is a Jigmaster 505HS with all the above but a Tiburon Frame.
The third reel is a Jigmaster 500, again with all the above and Tiburon Frame.
I used these reels on my last San Diego trip and it knocked the hell out of the Yellowtail on jigs and live bait.
Put a dent in the local Calico population as well around San Clemente Island.
Couldn't keep the Barracuda and Boneita population off so seals were well fed...
Also couldn't hook a tuna to save my life. But I wasn't alone, only about 8 football size Bluefin were caught that trip. We were one of the first boats out after Hurricane Hillary last year and had to take shelter on the leeward side of the island to escape the winds.
Thanks,
Steve
