Penn 9/0 with Starless Drag!!!!!!

Ocean City had a Drag System like this for many of their models and was available as an ACCESSORY from Them .
This deal on the Penn I THINK is an after market deal .
The  Descript on E-Bay says
Star Development Handle Drag/Management Ap0697/20
THis Reel is on E-bay and is in japan , Has Japanese writing all over it and the Foot . So MAYBE it is a Japanese THing ?
Any ideas people.

From what I have found is Penn had NUTTIN to do with this . It is an aftermarket thingy requiring changing out the Original sleeve,Handle  and maybe a few utter pieces to . Made LONG after Ocean Cities .
Splain it to me if this ain't Gospel .
Plus all the ones I have found were IN JAPAN and asking price from 325 to over 900 smackers.

Well they Do exist 





and the Modification involves replacing the Guts shown in above  pic.  and Handle  . Kit is made by the
Star Development Company which I can find absolutely NUTTIN about after several hours of Searching .
Anyway I Bought a 9/0 off the Bay  From Japan like New in Box and she works fine . Much like Ocean City had back when .
 
With a Nice Penn Pouch with Japanese Writing


and the Box has Japanese Stickers on it .





And  the Foot



Don't know what year this is BUT it has the Early Cast Bronze Spool and Ball Bearings so figure it is from the 70's
