Old Shakespeare 1785 underspin reel in action
« on: December 11, 2021, 09:01:44 PM »
I bought a vintage Shakespeare Wonderspin 1755 earlier this year (2021) and mounted it onto an old Heddon fiberglass spinning rod. After using it on a couple fishing outings it became apparent this type of reel requires a special rod handle setup to be able to cast it well. The stem between the reel foot and the body didn't allow me to wrap my fingers around the rod. This made casting awkward. Then I discovered the Shakespeare 1785 which made that problem go away. The stem between the reel foot and body on the 1785 was longer and made casting much easier. See the Shakespeare 1785 in action in my video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jye45Ai4zpQ
